The river is known to hold high numbers of trophy Brown and Rainbow trout, also has various game animals amongst the grassy clearings and beech forests that meet the waters edge.

The beech forest overhangs the river and makes for some amazing scenery.

There are various fun rapids on this section of river but it probably one of our most relaxing rivers to experience.

On our multi-day adventures you will have the option of a fully catered trip or you can supply your own food.

Waimakariri

Canterbury
Grade 1-2 - Age 5 years

What better way to get the kids out of the house than an overnight camping trip, where all you have to worry about is turning up.

We will take care of the rest.

This is an exciting and educational experience for the kids, especially first timers. It is also a pretty cool spot for the parents as well and is one of our favourite trips to run.

There are a few fun kid friendly rapids and plenty of spots to swim, but the scenery is definitely something else.

Following our Jet boat tour upstream we will disembark and get prepared for a more relaxing journey back downstream by raft.

We camp out riverside for the night and cook amazing food over the campfire. Theres a chance for a spot of fishing  and exploring the Waimakariri gorge along the way as we drift back to civilisation.

Landsborough

Grade 4-5 - Age 15 years

The Landsborough River is located in New Zealand's South Island. A major tributary of the Haast River, it flows southwest, parallel with the Southern Alps, for 50 kilometres from its source five kilometres north of Mount Hopkins to meet the Haast 12 kilometres below the Haast Pass.

Listed as being in the top 10 multi day raft trips in the world the Landsborough is a truly amazing wilderness raft trip with spectacular alpine scenery. Incredibly scenic camping. Access is by helicopter only. Can be run as a two day or three day trip.

What better way to access the untouched remote NZ backcountry than with a scenic flight over majestic landscapes giving you a bird’s eye view of the valleys below. We will fly into the headwaters of the river with everything we need for our adventure.

As the helicopter departs and the sweet smell of aviation fuel dissipates we are left to gear up and drift our way back to civilisation stopping along the way to  enjoy the ever changing landscapes around us.
